Updating Your Device
Login to https://gmc.banduracyber.com/assets.
If there are available software updates, you will see the count of devices available for update.
Click on the Available Software button and a modal pops up displaying your devices eligible for update.
Device Selection Options
From the modal, you can decide which devices you want to update. You will have three device selection options: Update a Single Device, Update All Devices, and Update a Set of Devices.
Update a Single Device
You can install the latest build on a per device basis by utilizing the Install button on the row of each device.
Jump to Update Timing Options.
Update All Devices
You can install the build to all applicable devices via the Install button in the top right corner of the modal.
Jump to Update Timing Options.
Update a Set of Devices
By using the Asset Filtering feature, you can schedule the update for a specific subset of your devices. Any filter applied here will also apply to the Available Software modal.
You can filter down to a group of devices, set the update date/time for that group, then filter down to their next group of devices and set the update date/time for that group, etc.
For example, if your user account is set in the US Eastern timezone, schedule the update for devices located in the East Coast for 3:00 AM then schedule the update for devices located in the West Coast at 6:00 AM.
See Update All Devices for instructions on how to apply the update to all devices in each grouping.
Update Options
Once you have decided which devices need to be updated, there are various options to choose when to perform the update: Update Now, Schedule Update, Revert, Review, Edit & Confirm Update, and Cancel Update/Revert.
Update Now
Choose the Update Now option to update your devices immediately. The process will start as soon as confirmation is complete.
Schedule Update
Choose the Schedule Update option to select a specific date and time to update your devices. Times are set based on the user's specific timezone NOT the device's timezone.
NOTE: If a new build becomes available between now and the Scheduled Date, the latest build available will be installed.
i.e. Build 3 becomes available Dec. 1st and you schedule the update to Build 3 on Dec. 10th. If Build 4 is made available on Dec. 7th, your device will be updated to Build 4 on Dec. 10th.
Revert
Choose the Revert option to revert your device to the previous software that was installed on your device. This option MUST be scheduled at least 1 hour in advance and the revert process will begin at the selected date and time.
NOTE: This will revert you to the last software version installed on your device, not the last software version made available.
i.e. If you had Build 1 and updated to Build 4, you would be reverted to Build 1. You would not be reverted to Build 3 even if it had been made available.
Review, Edit & Confirm Update
After making your update selection(s), you can make changes to the update in the following ways:
- Clear All - selecting Clear All on the top row will clear all selections made for all assets.
- Clear Individual Selection - a user can remove an individual selection by clicking on the “X” next to the green text.
- Update Individual Selection - a user can update the selection by clicking on the button and choosing another option and/or date and time.
Cancel Update/Revert
If you need to cancel a Scheduled Update or Revert, you can do so up until 5 minutes before the scheduled time. You cannot cancel out of an Update Now action.
To make changes, open the Available Software modal and select the Cancel button. Click Proceed and then Confirm on the confirmation modal to complete cancellation.
